A weekend getaway to Denver, Colorada is a great option if you live in Charlotte, North Carolina. Direct flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Denver International Airport are fairly affordable - ranging from $150 - $250. If you decide to be adventurous, consider some of my recommendations below.
Where I stayed...
The Curtis Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Denver and is walking distance from 16th Street Mall, restaurants and other attractions. It's actually a Double Tree by Hilton hotel so as a guest, you can knab an infamous Double Tree cookie from the front desk. I'm not at all ashamed to say I grabbed one every day of my stay.
The Curtis also has a secured parking garage and badge access floors. The hotel is super festive and brightly colored but what I loved most was the hyper themed rooms and floors. The Curtis is definitely an older hotel that you can tell has undergone a renovation, but I fell in love the character and all of the little surprises throughout the property.
I was also really impressed with the restaurant in the lobby - The Corner Office. We went for breakfast and it was so good. Make sure to order the beignets!

Where I ate...
Wonderyard is super Instagram-worthy but it's not just the aesthetics that got me. The cocktails were bomb, and the food was really good. I recommend trying them for Saturday brunch. Make sure to check for any special happenings to plan accordingly.
Mimosas is located in the Historic Five Points neighborhood. It is one of the more popular morning spots in the city. I enjoyed the food and music. I didn't too much care for the mimosa flight I selected, but alcohol should not be wasted so I drank them anyway. Reservations are strongly encouraged as there could be a long wait if you don't have one.
TikTok famous Wings & Burgers is a whole situation! It may appear lowkey on the outside but it's definitely a party on the inside. Shots every hour, elaborate food and cocktail presentations, huge TVs playing music videos, DJ on weekend nights... and amazing food - this place is a must to visit. Check out my experience!

Take a short one-hour road trip to Sun Water Spa located in the small historic town of Manitou Springs. We did the 90-minute outdoor mineral water soak in a cedar tub and it was so rejuvenating. They also offer massages, spa treatments and studio classes like yoga and dance.
There so much more to do in Denver, including cannabis dispensaries galore. I'm looking forward to visiting again.
